The regular Nascar racer Fusion has been taken over the Mustang in an all round first. The Fusion, a family sedan on the racetrack? NASCAR and automakers wanted to get their hands on something with a hotter reputation. The Ford Mustang is the car for the Job, origins and racing history back to the Shelby 1965.

The NASCAR Mustang makes its long-awaited debut at the Daytona International Speedway on Friday for NASCAR’s nationwide series, and Fords Mantangs will be out in force.

“NASCAR came to us and wanted to differentiate the Nationwide Series from the Cup Series,” says Pat DiMarco, Ford’s NASCAR Program manager. “Initially we looked at Fusion to keep the branding the same across both series, but when they really wanted to differentiate it, the natural choice was Mustang.”

These absolutely well turned out cars are replicas made to carry the looks and styling of the original and will leave the Fans in stand with a sense of history.
